Professor Saidatul, with over 30 years in the field of Language and Linguistics specialising in assessment, found English language assessment methods lacking across the board in tackling the issue of language usage amongst non-native users. While many universities continue to churn out graduates, few possess the skills to communicate professionally in English. Hazwani, on the other hand, spent most of her career in the legal field in Sydney, Australia. Despite having shaped her career in the commercial litigation space, upon her return to Malaysia, she came to realise that the real skill required to seamlessly move across the global market is strong professional communication skills. “In a fast-paced economy, one needs tools (where available) to develop skills relevant to the market, and sadly, the traditional education model is just not keeping up!”

At the turn of 2020 came the Covid-19 pandemic and all the challenges of a ‘new normal’. While traditional education systems struggle to go virtual, both co-founders saw the potential in a virtual world where time and attention is in short supply, and as such only the most relevant educational content will be of any benefit.
